1,400 Telecom engineers in New Zealand now have job security after Telecom and its second largest contractor, Transfield, negotiated a deal to keep Transfield in the industry.  Redundancies of 170 jobs announced earlier have been scrapped.  The deal follows protest action by EPMU members.  The campaign included a protest outside the Telecom AGM mass leafleting and a protest convoy of 60 vans through the streets of Hamilton New Zealand (UNION ACTION WORKS).
