Equality Officer Awards €15000 for Discrimination on Grounds of Race.

In a recent decision under the Employment Equality Acts 1998 - 2008, an Equality Officer has awarded a member who was employed by Quigley's Cafe & Bakery in the Crescent Shoppiny Centre, Dooradoyle, €15000 compensation for discrimination 'in relation to harassment on grounds of race'.
Quigley's were ordered to implement a grievance procedure and anti - bullying policies and procedures. They were also told to undertake diversity training for all staff.
Quigley's are appealing the Equality Officer's decision to the Labour Court.
