Garvey's Super Valu and Centra Stores Newcastle West - Dispute over unilateral reduction in Xmas Bonus.

Following on the members in Newcastle West voting to take industrial action and the serving of strike notice, this dispute was settled when Garvey's met with Mandate and agreed to grant the members in Newcastle West a discount of 25% on their Xmas shopping up to a maximum of €500 per employee. The shopping could include petrol purchased at the Centra Service Station.
The 25% discount was extended to the Garvey's employees in the other shops.
The company also accepted that it had breached the collective agreement covering terms and conditions of employment.
